Also battleed quite a lot. Eventuall went to their website and asked them for a +27 number. But thinking about it now if you dial from your cell phone push the + then 27 then drop the 0 and it should work eg +2786503xxxx Let me know if this works

I have tried a few times, and have never found the "0800..." numbers to work. It is an internal thing with Telkom SA, and not available to international callers.

I know that some institutions have their own +27... numbers for international callers, like the banks, so just check out the websites, or get someone local to call them, and find the right number, so that they can e-mail to you.

It is not what you receive, but what you give

The easiest and best way to dial toll-free numbers in most of the world is to make use of Skype through your computer. If you do not have it , here is the link to install www.skype.com  The call through Skype is still toll-free and you don't have to have credit to make the call.

Procedure :

1. Select to make a call on "call phones " in  Skype
2. Change the nationality flag in the call box
3. Enter the complete tollfree number
4.  press "Call"
