The one thing i cannot understand, is why people who come to Saudi complain about Saudi. Saudi is like this, Saudi is like that...make the best out of where you are. If you cannot bring joy to yourself, how do you expect others too. Also, it is well known, no matter how much ppl get paid, if you dont enjoy it...rather dont do it.
Heres the thing, you signed the contract, agreed to the contract and are happy when u get paid...but yet...ppl always seem to want to bad mouth Saudi. My point is, we all choose to come here.
Pottie...
In Saudi crime is less than South Africa.
Less murders, assault and rape.
I am a Proud South African and I dont get all upset when the truth is being said.
South Africa has her issues...but thats part of the reason why we love it...its home.
I have heard of many cases, when friends have lost keys, wallets, fones...and were always contacted to come and collect it, in Saudi.
Since to date...none of my friends and family has ever got anything back they lost in Cpt.
As for drugs, its found in every country. At least its a bit more difficult to get it here than to get it in Cape Town, and i should know. I am from the cape flats...drugs, firearms and assault is common.
Maybe as Desmond said,
ppl should travel and gain experience. Why not first try travelling in South Africa, and you guys come and visit Manenberg, Bonteheuwel, Hanover Park, Tafelsig in cpt...just to name a few suburbs. I grew up in these places...as for travelling in the evening...good luck. Sitting in a park in the evening without the fear of getting raped or killed...good luck.
A few nice things that gets said to you before u get robbed.
"Jy broetjie, jy het n lekka paar tekkies aan. Trek'it uit!'.
"Kyk hiersa, laat ek jou jacket uittraai, dit lyk as of dit sal pas. Jy maak gou..n man kry koud'.
This way, people can realise that South Africa does have issues...and critizing something does not make you un-Patriotic...just a a fellow South African who is concerned about what is going on in his/her contry.
But that is South Africa, and yet we love it. Guys, dont get over sensitive when people refer to issues in South Africa. It does not always mean that are bad mouthing it. Most People of this website actually love South Africa. They tend to post difference they find.
On a funny note to Pottie..
"Did you know, that all the toilet paper was once stolen from parliament in cpt."
'I saw ppl steal teabags at the office, in cpt, even though they are well paid SAP Consultants'.
Stealing is everywhere. Drugs are everywhere.
As for the British School, it is a well known fact, even amongst the Pakistanis and Indians, that drugs are common there.
Even Sharbatly compound has this issue.
The Patriot of the Cape Flats.
